Fr dear Fr: I have been attending churches amazingly even over the Winterval period, and listened to some of the readings quite intently, and was surprised this Christmas to hear the readings from St Paul and St Peter about wives being subject to husbands, is this all still relevant or has it gone out with the Ark at last??
Actually, the various letters and histories of the Jewish scriptures is one thing, open to interpretations of varying directions, whilst new bibles are being written by the Germans every month like the bibles being read in the International Space Station, but the science of law and dogma is quite another, so these in the new dispensation of the new era, prescribe that the two parties that do get married legitimately and consummate their union on the wedding day do so through solemn formulaes and acquire aequa iura, equal rights to each other - that is canon 777 of the eastern codex that should in theory apply to these far distant islands beyond the Pillars of Hercules, standing shoulder to shoulder with women’s rights as does the local bishop there across the river, Dr No, a veritable Dr Hercules of our time. The eastern codex is milder and more woke as a legal document than anything hitherto existing, both 1776, and 1789, and 1798, and 1804, and 1917 and 1983, and this new oriental flavour codex of the 1990s can provide many women with the relief from dominion they might need under many grounds of annulment. Tally ho.
