Michaelmas Ember Day 3

Lenty, Penty, Crucy, Lucy.

"The eyes of all hope in thee, O Lord:
and thou givest them meat in due season.
Thou openest thy hand,
and fillest with blessing every living creature."
Psalm 144:15-16

The Autumn or Michaelmas Ember Days start on the first Wednesday after the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

A day of partial abstinence and fasting, where you can eat meat as part of your main meal, but the other two meals should be small and not equal to a full meal.

We give thanks for the grape harvest.

Prayer

Antiphon. Why stand ye all the day idle, go ye into my vineyard.
V. Ask the Lord of the harvest.
R. That He send labourers into His vineyard.

Let us Pray

God, who willest not the death of the sinner, but rather that he be converted and live; grant, by the intercession of blessed Mary ever Virgin and of all saints, labourers for Thy Church, fellow labourers with Christ, to spend and consume themselves for souls. Through the same Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.
