Arise Sir Perceval

Dr dear Dr: Why on God’s holy earth was Gordon Brown overlooked in the New Year’s Honours List? After all, according to Time magazine editors, he was single-handedly responsible for saving the world economy during the 2007 Credit Crunch? Gongs for Sir Tony, but wherefore those for Gordon of our CC Khartoum? Yes, Sir Anthony is very popular among gay men and women, but surely his achievements do not rival those of Gordon?

We are striving to be well, that is all most of us can manage during an epidemic, and one of the prescriptions of general wellness and wellbeing is to stay out of the business of others, and especially out of the prerogatives of free conferral of knighthoods made by the Queen’s good offices. So we cannot help the Questioner, except to say that it is nice to see such charity for Gordon who worked so tirelessly to save not only the GB economy or the Eu economy but the American economy too, with a little help from an Anglican chaplain at Oxford. Well said. Bravo to a worthy Sir Anthony yep, who did much to bomb the extremists of hate-preaching and murderous anti-women terrorism into the stone age during an unpopular but needed 2003 war on terror, but also some gongs would have been nice for Sir Gordon too, as he was just as worthy for the economists of the world what with his policy of recapitalisation of the Wall Street Banks and the like. Nice to see some Christian charity expressed toward two Blue Labour MPs, especially at a time of a general collapse of Red Wall seats. Bravo. Well said.
