Bleak House

Dr dear Dr: Have you any considered ethical response to the bleak situation in which we find ourselves, beset on every side by bad news in which freedom loving presidents are more and more compared to ancient figures from the past, and especially at the end of this 1347 style plague, and now rumours of wars, and even more urgently of talk among the right-wing republicans of first-strike use of the ultimate weapons?

Nuremberg 45 has been suggested for the pioneers of vaccines in Poland of late, forgetting that the sincere doctors and nurses that proposed those emergency vaccines were themselves quite sincere in their desire to help the human race avoid extinction in April 2020, so people do have short memories, and many forget how desperate the dark and darkening world was in those weeks and months, witness a Prayer I found in an old notebook of an old boy from those times:

Dear Lord and Father of Mankind, forgive our foolish ways, and if we have so erred and wandered far, far away from the Flocks of Obedient Israel, to tell us and upon the oracle of Time give us our Futures back. I hope that you son Our Lord, kind Father-God, who was sweet honeysuckle to so many virginal broken hearts, that he too will hear this prayer, and come to our Aid in the fulness of time; when at last Fallen Humankind has returned from its Erring Ways, when Fathers at last love their sons, and Mothers their daughters too, and pollution’s dread brown smog has lifted, and the beautiful liquid world that you made simple for simple hearts, has forgotten the evil of Man’s smudge and Man’s smell, and then finally at last embraced that heavenly perfume which the Son of Charity sketched so briefly in Galilee as he painted Grace onto our brown and burnt hills. Yes for all this I pray and for a speedy recovery of mankind to its higher senses and higher mind, as it once was. Amen.

But if anything Nuremberg 45 protocols could be applied to those denizens of destruction that in America operate those once glorious ICBM missile silos, now running low on ethics, and powered by old 8-inch floppy disks, and out of date technology. Nuremberg 45 was put together by crown and once-great Usa lawyers who had to find reasons to hang the German Nazis hiding behind civil obedience defences to their own draconian laws with the recurring theme-song - “We were only following orders.” So they came up with one or two gems for the purpose, and these became macro-laws or fundamental laws for the people:

• Disturbing the peace of nations;

• Imposing genocide on their own citizens;

• Imparting a doctrine of eternal war on other nations;

• Imposing science and experiment on women and children.

  So we have now got to a stage when an empire that first proposed a War on Terror has gotten into a mindset of the eternal wars, and for this reason its president is now compared by such readers above from Birmingham AL to Maxentius and then his opposite number the convert from communism is compared to Constantine, as per the schema below:

  • Monotheist

  • Liberal

  • Heartfelt believer

    And he is compared to the older emperor Maxentius who was:

  • Maxentius

  • Pagan

  • Arrogant

  • Self-assertive

  • Poly-pluralist

  • Draconian

    So too Dr Vladimir is compared to Constantine since he believes in promoting Christian Conservatism, while Dr Joe is compared to Maxentius since he believes in pioneering a new Evangelical Wokism; both these philosophies are pushing ahead toward a collision if not a dialogue. But as to the issue of first-strike weapons of total destruction, we must not forget that such draconian weapons, and we use that word correctly, are pointed at women and children. Ethical? Legitimate? Just? None of these really de facto. Evangelium Vitae puts the ban on such weapons. First strike republicans need to be deprived of holy communion, and very urgently.
